Laboratory of Advanced Nanomaterials (LAN) is mainly committed to the establishment and development of new two-dimensional atomic crystal growth methods and the study of the internal mechanism. At present, more than 140 SCI articles have been published or accepted (More than 50 papers have an impact factor of more than 10). LAN has translated China's first academic monograph on graphene, “Graphene: Fundamentals and Emerging Applications” (The Science Publishing Company, 2015, 470,000 words), and applied for 15 Chinese and American patents for invention. LAN has hosted Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, State Natural Science Fund projects (3), and International Cooperative projects (2). Besides, as a core member, LAN has participated in many national major research programs and 973 projects. Professor Lei Fu has won the Special Award of the President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Youth chemistry Award of the Chinese Chemical Society, the May 4th Youth medal of Hubei province, the title of Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Worker of Wuhan. He was voted as the “Excellent Instructor” of the 14th “The Challenge Cup”, the “Excellent Instructor of the Class”, and “My Favorite Teacher” in successive years. He was honored as the “Ten Great Tutors in My Mind” of Wuhan University (2015), the “Ten Almighty Tutors” of China by “Scientific Chinese” (2016), and the “China's Cutting-Edge Scientific and Technological Figures” (2018).
